Stanmer Community Garden Group brings volunteers and vulnerable adults together in a mutually supportive group, preparing beds, sowing, planting and learning about raising fruit and vegetables.

Our group is run by volunteers for volunteers. Some have learning or physical difficulties and all benefit by attending our beautiful 5 acre site in the middle of the South Downs.

Bee Hives

We are open on Tuesday and Friday all year round from 10am – 3:30pm.

Our members may help with growing produce or spend time just enjoying the grounds.   We encourage our volunteers to develop and use their ideas and skills in gardening but sometimes craft and art projects as well.

We grow crops and pack salad which volunteers can take home but is mostly sold to A Share of the Crop, who help to boost our funds.

We sometimes hold picnics and barbeques and take tours of our surrounds; visiting other projects and getting acquainted with the people on other sites within Stanmer Park.

Whilst we’re on site, everyone can enjoy our beautiful space, as long as it is treated with respect.
